Facts About Coastal Wolves:

1. Coastal wolves are the size of a German Shepherd.

2. There are 2 types of Coastal Wolves.

3. Their name also goes by Sea Wolf.

4. Up to %90  of their diet is seafood.

AIM: To look at climate change and the greenhouse effect

The Greenhouse Effect experiment

Materials

  1. Heat lamp
  2. Bottle
  3. Thermometer
  4. Baking soda
  5. Citric acid
  6. Rubber bung
  7. Water 

Procedure

  1.  Plug in heat lamps
  2. put heat lamps facing towards bottle
  3. add water to the bottle then put baking soda in one of the bottles
  4. add just water to the second bottle

Conclusion:
Over all I found what colour attracts the most heat from the sunlight or heat lamp.

Measuring weather.

Definitions:

  1.  Anemometer:
  2. Beaufort wind scale:

Anemometer

MATERIALS

  1. sellotape 
  2. pencil  
  3. pin  
  4. 2 sticks (kebab stick required)  
  5.   4 cups
  6. sticky note

STEPS

  1.   tape cups onto the cups        
  2.   Then tape stick together to make a "+"
  3.   pin cross to the rubber on the pencil
  4.   measure the wind.
Group Investigation.

Groups size: 5 
Roles:
  • Timekeeper
  • Counter
  • Recorder
  • Anemometer Manager
  • Wind Manager
  1. Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
  2. When the time keeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
  3. Repeat the above step four (4) times and record the number of spins on the chart.

FINDINGS

  • Record how many times it spins and record it in the table below.
  • You will need to time them and count the number of spins.

SLJ: Giants among us.

Hi readers, today is day two for our Summer Learning Journey. For todays activity we need to tell you if we would visit the Tāne Mahuta tree.
Im also going to be telling you 3 facts about it and what type of tree it is.

I would not go visit because its to far away and you will need the gas to go there and back.

1. The Tāne Mahuta tree is in the Kauri forest.

2. Trunk Height: 17.68 metres (58 feet).

3. The Tāne Mahuta tree is the largest tree in the world.

The tree type is a Kauri tree found in the Kauri forest.

SLJ:ice ice baby

Hi readers, as you guys proably know already by my other 2 posts I have done today about SLJ/Summer Learning Journey.
We have been given Activitys to do in the holidays.
Each one of our blog posts contain points. So far I have got 8 points.
But my next activity im doing right now contains 10 points.

For this activity we need to blog about Antarctica.
Antarctica is a very cold place and has penguins, ALOT of snow and some ice.

We need to make a copy of a footprint and explain how to create a positive, digital footprint. and how to stay smart online. Here is my footprint.
