Scaling new heights
SLJ

Hi readers today's activity is writing about and of these topics:
SPCA,
Auckland city mission,
Air rescue,
or OXFAM

What we need to do is write about what the charity does for them,
I chose the SPCA because I like animals and I have had a few cats.

Here is my work.
(If the links didn't work here is the link I put in) (Here)

I hope you enjoyed reading my post if you have any positive comment or feedback please leave it in the comments.

If you were to choose any charity of those 4 what would it be?

SLJ- Day 1 explorers activity 1

SLJ- Day 1 explorers

Hi readers today I am going to be doing day 1 of the summer learning journey which is based on exploring.
What we need to do is think of 10 food things we would bring with us out to sea!

Here is what I would bring

I would choose these items because a loaf of bread would last me quite a bit but if it expires I can just feed the birds anyway and the rest should last me because I don't eat much within a day.
And even tho I wouldn't have a can opener for the spaghetti I could use a rock to crack it.
Its not impossible!

I hope you enjoyed reading my post,
If you have any comments or positive feedback please leave them in the comments.

And while your at it name 10 things you would bring to sea!

What I think will happen in wood work.

What I think will happen in wood work.

Hi readers, today I am going to be telling you about the woodwork we have just started today.
What we did today was:

-Read through the safety rules as a class about what we can and can't do.

-And get a picture given to us with over 22 issues that people are doing wrong. - how they are being unsafe.
what we had to do for that was circle whos doing what wrong.

Now what  think will happen in woodwork.
I think that we will make things like a basket and other cool things that are kind of like that.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post, if you have any positive comment or feedback please leave it in the comments.

Sewing!! ~Tech~

Sewing!! ~Tech~

HI readers, today  am going to be telling you about the sewing tech we do on tuesdays and fridays.

We are making "Drawstring bags"

First we measured our fabric and cut it out.
I did a front, back, pocket, and other fabric.

then we had to paint them.
Because our sewing teacher wasn't there we had a reliever teacher teaching us.
when we were finished our sewing teacher got mixed up with the templeton bags that come here for tech because they don't have any tech rooms.
and the front part of my bag went missing.
the teacher said she saw it and she told me what patterns were on it and it was mine but she forget where she found it.

If I could I would post photos but we didn't take any photo's.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post, if you have any feedback or positive comment please leave it in the comment's!

Design tech designs

Design tech designs

Hi readers, today I am going to be telling you about the "designer tech" we have been doing.
We made phone/book (etc.) holders

Steps:
1. Find images we wanted to put on our designs from google.
2. then we had to go onto laser-works v8
3. then we had to fill out paper work to finish and get our designs ready.
4. Then if we finished the paper work we had to help other people if they haven't finished.
5. Then it got printed and we got to take it home to use.

Here is a photo.

I liked the experience and I hope you liked reading my post. If you have any feedback or positive comment please leave it in the comments.

Mental health (Drama/health)

Mental health (Drama/health)

Hi readers today I am going to be telling you about the topic we have been doing in Drama/Health class.
We got given questions to answer.

Here are the questions and my answers to them.

1. What is "Mental Health?"
Mental Health is your feelings or emotions

2. When I am: Angry, Happy, Confused, tired, embarrassed or any other motions I feel: When im angry I feel Tense.

3. How do I deal with my emotions?: Talk to a friend, a family member or anyone else that might help.

4. Who is the best person to talk to when I am at home: Family or talk to your animals and play with them. And someone you trust because then you know that you trust them and they wont tell anyone else.

Example of when I felt any of these was: I was embarrassed when I was on stage doing a play when I was about 6 years old.

Who is the best person to talk to when i'm at school? Why?
Your teacher, a school counsellor or your class/school mates.
This is the same "because" reason as the "Who is the best to talk to around home"

I hope you enjoyed my post.

Science Distance and behaviour of a paper plane.

Science Distance and behaviour of a paper plane.

A.I.M: To learn about flight and aerodynamics.

Hi readers, today I am going to tell you about, the distance and behaviour of a paper plane with, a normal paper plane, a paper clip on the front of it, and cut out flaps on the back of it.

  • In our groups of three we will, make a water rocket and measure its distance and behaviour.
  • In our groups of three we will make a water rocket and record its distance and behaviour.

Plane Type
Distance
Behaviour
Normal
1.6

2

straight line
Paper clip

2.3
straight line

Conclusion: This was a fun experiment and I hope you get a chance to try it out. For my groups normal plane It went 1.6m as a distance and it was in a curved line. For our Paper flaps at the back, it went 2m in distance and went in a straight line. And with the paper clip at the front of the plane it went 2.3m in a straight line. I think you try this so you can tell me if you got a higher or lower score then me.

I hoped you enjoyed reading my blog post today, if you have any positive comment or feedback please leave it in the comments.

100 word challenge "but it was the wrong colour"

100 word challenge "but it was the wrong colour"

Hi readers, today I am going to be telling you about the 100 word challenge we have been doing.
the teacher has given us a sentence we have to base it about and title it.

Here is my story I came up with.
But it is the wrong colour.
100 word challenge.

One sunny hot day, there was a festival with lots of fun
looking games, yummy food and more crazy cool stuff.
I wanted to wear 3 different colours.
Pink, Blue and white.
I wanted to wear my black pants,
“but it was the wrong
colour”
so I wore my blue pants. And I also found a white top
“but it was the wrong colour” so I had to wear my
white shirt
with a
blue and pink
“dream catcher” picture on it. Then I was ready,
so I went luckily
I made it just in time.
The
festival was such a blast.

I hope you enjoyed my post, if you have any feedback or positive comment please leave it in the comments. Bye!!

(Science) Coloured paper

(Science) Coloured paper

Hi readers, today I am going to  be telling you about the Science we have been doing today.

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

What we have been doing is paper colouring with a few materiel's.

Here are 2 photos.

Before                         After

The things you need are.

1. A cup,
2. A piece of filtered paper,
3. water-(cold),
4. 2 or more water based markers,
5. A ruler,

Steps to do it.

1. Get your piece of paper and put your colour on it at 1 cm. (any colour's)
2. Get your cup and put the paper in with the paper a bit folded over the edge.
3. Put the water in. (be careful you don't touch the paper as your pouring it)

4. Watch the colour rise up the paper.

Conclusion: This is a very fun experiment and I think you should try it out. I have learnt that when the colours are in the paper in the cup with a little bit of water. The colour blends and it made a blue, cream, and purpley type of colours on the paper. Even tho we were only using black and green.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post If you have any feedback or positive comment please leave it in the comment's.

Building into our rubbish art.

Building into our rubbish art.

Hi readers, today I am going to be telling you about what we have added to our rubbish art we have been working on.

What we have done is add blue paint to the background and put grass out of cardboard on it. What we did to stick the grass on. How we made the grass is, we got cardboard then cut it so there is a pars for it to stick onto the cardboard canvas but made it so there is little pieces of cardboard sticking out and glued it on with hot glue. Then we ran out of glue sticks so we used white glue, that didn't work. So we stapled them and now it is staying.

Here is a photo of what it looks like so far:

I hope you enjoyed my post. If you have any feedback or positive comment please leave it in the comments.

Writing longer sentences.

 Writing longer sentences.

Hi readers, today  am going to be telling you about some writing we did this morning called "Lexia writing"
What we did for Lexia writing was get into groups of 3 or pairs, then we made a document and shared it with the other person/people in your group.
Then we shared ideas and chose the ones we thought were good and changed the colour if each verb, noun and adjective.
First we started with a plain boring sentence and make it more interesting and exiting.

Here is what my group came up with:

We played a game for hours

We happily played a game for hours.
