Making Belgium Slice!

Hi readers, Today I will be showing you the Belgium slice me and my mum made.

Ingredients (FOR SLICE):
1. 150g Of butter (melted)
2. Half a cup of brown suger
3. 3 table spoons of golden syrup
4. 1 egg
5. 1 and a half cups of plain flower
6. 1 teaspoon of baking powder
7. 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
8. 3 teaspoons of of mixed spices 

Ingredients for icing:
1. 3 tablespoons of raspberry jelly crystals
2. 2 tablespoons of boiling water
3. 3 tablespoons of raspberry jam
4. 2 cups of icing sugar

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 170°C
 fan bake
2. In a large bowl whisk melted butter, brown sugar and golden syrup
3. Add the egg and whisk again
4. Sift the flower, baking powder, cinnamon and mixed spices, then mix until its all combined.
5. pour the mixture into a baking tray then put in oven for 20 minutes.

Instructions for icing:
1. Add 2 tablespoons of jelly crystals in a bowl then add 2 tablespoons of boiling water then whisk together.
2. Then add the 3 tablespoons of the raspberry jam into the bowl and whisk.
3. Sift the 2 cups of icing sugar in the bowl until its all combined.

4. (once the 20 minutes have been up for cooking the base take it out then ice the top while its still warm) 
5. Sprinkle over  1 table spoon of jelly crystals on the top.
6. Put in fridge til icing is set, then slice with large knife and store in a air tight container in pantry. (It lasts up to 4 days.)
