SLJ day 1- activity 3. Scaling new heights

Scaling new heights
SLJ

Hi readers today's activity is writing about and of these topics:
SPCA,
Auckland city mission,
Air rescue,
or OXFAM

What we need to do is write about what the charity does for them,
I chose the SPCA because I like animals and I have had a few cats.

Here is my work.
(If the links didn't work here is the link I put in) (Here)

I hope you enjoyed reading my post if you have any positive comment or feedback please leave it in the comments.

If you were to choose any charity of those 4 what would it be?
Bye!!

  1. Hi Shania,

My name is Cheryl and I am the Education Coordinator at SPCA. I really enjoyed reading your blog post - you did an awesome job!

I especially love the use of photos and it's awesome to hear that you have cats. They're such lovely animals!

Since you are so passionate about animals and their welfare, you may be interested in exploring SPCA's Kids’ Portal (https://kids.spcaeducation.org.nz/). Here you can read more about SPCA, learn about animal care, download instructions for DIY enrichment toys, watch videos, and test your knowledge with the quizzes. There is even a space for you to share your work and send our SPCA Expert any questions you have about SPCA, animal welfare, and responsible animal guardianship (ownership).

Additionally, a new component of the Kids’ Portal is our Kind Matters newsletter. New issues are published each school term and are filled with animal-related facts, stories, activities, crafts, tips and most exciting of all – a competition! Right now we’re holding a “Caption This Photo” Competition. If you’d like to enter, you can find all of the details in issue 7 (November ’19) here: https://kids.spcaeducation.org.nz/newsletter/

Thank you for your support and for teaching people about SPCA through your writing. If you have any animal welfare and SPCA questions, please feel free to email education@spca.nz and we would be happy to answer them for you!

    Have a great day!

    Kind regards,
    Cheryl

  2. Hi again Shania,

Interesting read about the SPCA, I really like how you organised you pictures around your text so that it was easy to read and engaging to look at. :)

Good advice! Making sure that animals we are going to keep as pets are clean and disease free keeps us as well as the animals safe. Do you have any animals at home? What kind of pet would you like to have?

I would choose the Auckland City Mission because I have volunteered there before, and I know how much of a positive impact they have on Auckland! They offer help to families and individuals who are in need :)

One way to make sure that your posts are really noticeable is to line up the text, this makes it easier to read!

    Keep up the great work!

    Gabe
